Registration for Reading Santa Run 2021 has closed! Come down on the day to cheer the runners on.

The Reading Santa Run is organised by Reading Rotary and it is without doubt the biggest festive event in the town, with over a thousand Santas running around the town centre in a fun, festive fundraiser.

This year is the eighth Reading Santa Run and this year year’s event is raising money for Reading Refugee Support Group, as well as Thames Valley Air Ambulance and Rotary Charities.

This event is kindly sponsored by Creffields, Dexter Montague Solicitors and Roc Search.

Reading Santa Run – 5km – Starts 10AM

Anyone aged 11 and over can take part in the Reading Santa Race.

The Reading Santa Run is open to people of all abilities and you can Run, Jog or walk the Reading Santa Race.

All participants receive a medal for completing the race as well as their outfit. 

The Race Route

The route is 5KM (just over three miles), starting and finishing in Reading’s iconic Forbury Gardens. It runs through Market Place, Broad Street, The Oracle, along Kennet path, before crossing the river, down Chestnut Walk and back to Forbury Gardens.

Mini Santa Run – 1KM – Starts 9:30AM

Aimed at big and little kids alike, anyone of any age can take part in the 1KM Mini Santa Run.

Racers with dogs or pushchairs are welcome to take part.

Kids receive Christmas Elf outfits, Adults receive Father Christmas outfits. All participants receive a race medal.

Please note: parents must accompany children on the Mini Santa Run.

‘Reading Refugee Support Group are unbelievably excited to be part of this year’s Reading Santa Run! It’s a landmark event in the Reading calendar, and we’re really chuffed to be a part of it alongside Reading Rotary and Thames Valley Air Ambulance.

‘Since the recent Afghanistan Crisis, we’re now supporting more than 500 Afghan men, women and children living in temporary housing locally with no support from the government. The money we raise at the Santa Run will help us to give them mental health support, social activities, advice, internet access, and one-to-one Befriending that they urgently need.

‘Registration is now open, so sign yourself up, stick on your Santa suits, and help improve make a difference for refugees in our community!’
