Sanctuary Strikers Football Club

Unity Is Power

Sanctuary Strikers Football Club are Berkshire’s only refugee football club. Started in 2017 by a former client and a volunteer, the club aims to promote integration by bringing together refugees and non-refugees to play football in the spirit of unity.

Establishing the team was an ambitious effort and took a lot of time, energy and paperwork to get off the ground. The cost of setting up and running the team, including registration fees, insurance, equipment and kits totalled over £5,000 for the first year. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has helped fund Sanctuary Strikers including The FA’s Grow The Game fund, AKG and our other generous donors.

Sanctuary Strikers have played together for three seasons and currently play in Division 3, Reading & District Sunday League. Our Home Ground is Palmer Park.
