Resettlement Support Worker – Four posts

Working with refugees mainly from Syria and Afghanistan.

To provide effective support to refugees who may have complex needs and who are resettling within the boroughs of Reading, Wokingham and West Berkshire. Needs may include housing support related needs, domestic abuse, financial problems, physical/mental health, and legal/family reunification issues.

This job requires travelling within Wokingham, West Berkshire and Reading.

The key roles of this post will include:

To work as part of a team and coordinate support activates with your team and within RRSG support services.
To provide practical and integration support to refugees assisting with issues around finances, health, housing, life skills, personal safety, legal/family reunification issues, parenting, ESOL and employment.
To undertake practical support with clients to promote sustainable independent living.

Full time, £22,183 to £23,080, depending on experience, initially Reading and West Berkshire based.

Mental Health Care Coordinator

Refugee Mental Health Care Coordinator (MHCC)

Aim and Outline

This is an exciting opportunity for a mental health professional to help set up a new post and partnership between RRSG and Berks West CCG/Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.  You will support the mental health needs of refugees, asylum seekers and dispersed asylum seekers living within or arriving in the Berkshire West Clinical Commissioning Group area by;

  1. Work closely with refugees, asylum seekers, and their case workers, to coordinate early intervention supporting their mental health and well being in a culturally sensitive and inclusive approach, taking into account barriers such as language, religion, and potential stigma.
  2. Promoting awareness and increased understanding within NHS partners of the mental health support need of refugees and asylum seekers and how services are meeting those needs.
  3. Working with NHS partners to reduce the inequalities in access to mental health support experienced by the refugee community through some direct casework, increasing coordination, effective and informed signposting and referrals and reducing strain on statutory services.

Full time or part-time,  NJC SP £31,371 (NHS band 6) (FTE)  working across Reading Wokingham and West Berkshire.

All posts are 1 year contracts, renewable subject to funding, and benefit from:

  • Incremental salary scale (subject to annual review) and Pension 6% employee contribution.
  • 25 days leave plus Bank Holidays (plus 1 day p/a up to 30) plus additional Christmas closure.
