Helping children achieve
Since 2012 we have run a Homework Club for refugee children in partnership with The Abbey School and Kendrick School.
The Homework Clubs give children from refugee families the opportunity to receive one-to-one support with their school work, boosting their confidence and enabling them to integrate with their classmates more.
One-to-One Homework Support Calls
RRSG have adapted the homework club, aiming to provide online homework support for our younger clients. RRSG homework support co-ordinator is providing 1 to 1 support for our clients, aiming to maximise targeted support. These sessions take place weekly, for 1 hour, using the platform Zoom.
Each child in their call explains their homework that they have been set by their school to the homework club co-ordinator, Lottie Temblett-Wood. She will discuss the homework set and ensure that all tasks are understood properly. Weekly, the child can raise queries and concerns they may have around their online learning and Lottie aims to help with the tasks set and provide reassurance to child, in these challenging times. No additional learning tasks are set by RRSG unless English support is required.
