The Drop In Centre

Our Drop In Centre is at the heart of what we do.

It offers a safe space to socialise, make friends, learn English, see a Caseworker, and get help finding work and volunteering.

Cost Neutral

We reimburse the travel costs for everyone attending the Drop In, so that it costs nothing for refugees and people seeking asylum to attend. This helps isolated and destitute refugees to attend, and encourages them to visit the town and access other local services.

A Safe Space

Our Drop In Centre offers a safe space for refugees and people seeking asylum to enjoy a cup of tea, socialise and make friends.

It helps refugees to build their support networks and integrate with the local community. It helps to combat loneliness and isolation, and improves mental health.

Learning English

Our team of brilliant volunteers help refugees practice and learn English at the Drop In.

Refugees can practise and improve their English language skills, learn about UK culture, and get help with coursework. This builds their confidence, encourages integration and increases their employability.

Advice and Support

Refugees can speak to a Caseworker at our Drop In, getting free, confidential advice and practical help with anything from their immigration status, benefits, housing, healthcare and more.

As we reimburse travel costs for everyone at the Drop In, this means refugees can access this advice and support without any cost at all.

Help Finding Work

Our employment service volunteers are offer refugees help and advice on accessing education, building their skills, and finding work and volunteer opportunities.

We help refugees to building their CV, access education, learn new skills, find volunteering roles, look for work, apply for jobs and practise for job interviews.

Many have years of professional experience, skills and qualifications that we help them to re-access here in the UK.
