Bishop of Reading, The Rt. Revd. Andrew Proud

The Rt. Revd. Andrew Proud has been Bishop of Reading since April 2011.
Before that, he was Area Bishop for Horn of Africa for four years, covering Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti, Somaliland and Somalia. He and his wife lived and served in Ethiopia from 2002. He spent the first five years of his time there as the chaplain (resident priest) at St. Matthew’s, an international church in the centre of Addis Ababa. His interests include Africa and African affairs, music, walking, vast open spaces and dabbling in writing narrative poetry.
